Public Notice:

The legacy names “McArthur Volunteer Fire Department” and “Fall River Valley
Volunteer Fire Department” are not associated with the Fall River Valley Fire
Protection District. Individuals using those names are not volunteer firefighters for
this district, they do not represent the volunteer firefighters of this district and do
not provide emergency services in this district.

Furthermore, both the “McArthur Volunteer Fire Department” and the “Fall River
Valley Volunteer Fire Department” are simply names and are not legitimate “Fire
Departments” and cannot provide any emergency services in this community.

All volunteer firefighters serving the community within the fire district do so
directly for the Fall River Valley Fire Protection District.

Additionally, the volunteer firefighters that serve this district maintain an
association known as the “Fall River Valley Fire Protection District Volunteer
Association”

For context:
The McArthur VFD and Fall River Mills VFD served as a form of volunteer
association, but are legacy names not in use by the volunteer firefighters since
the fire districts merged in 2021. The Fall River Valley VFD name was in use until
last year when it was replaced by the current association. The legacy
names/entities are not associated with the Fire District or providing emergency
services in this community.
